Does made-to-measure transport involve taking into account the distance between the loading point and the delivery point? Is it a question of measuring pallet dimensions or assessing the risks associated with the goods being transported? It’s much more than that. We’ll tell you more!
Customised transport refers to transport services specially designed to meet the customer’s specific needs. This is time-critical transport that can be planned according to the requirements and sensitivity of the load.
Let’s take a few concrete examples where this type of transport is essential. Let’s imagine that a company needs to ship a machine to a factory, requiring delivery in two days. To save time, the customer could request the use of several drivers to avoid compulsory rest hours and speed up delivery. Also, the volume and weight of the machine may mean that it has to be loaded in a particular way, requiring a specific means of transport (loading on a bridge will require a vehicle that can be fully unpacked).

In another case, a museum is planning an exclusive exhibition requiring the transport of precious works of art. The customer will opt for a reliable carrier, with two drivers, and special on-board loading equipment (four-wheeled trolleys, hand trucks, etc.).
Another example is international air freight for a sensitive part to get a broken-down machine up and running again. The distance and the degree of urgency mean that air freight has to be used, but the sensitivity and the stakes involved mean that ‘accompanied baggage’ (or Hand Carry) has to be organised. This means that the sender will hand-deliver the parcel to a person who, after reaching the nearest airport, will take the plane with the parcel beside him, and finally hand-deliver it in turn to the end customer at the other end of the world.
It’s in these cases that we talk about made-to-measure transport. And there are an infinite number of possible scenarios. The customer outlines his or her constraints, and explains what is at stake, and thanks to our expertise we implement an appropriate solution, with attention to detail. In short, at Joker courses, offering tailor-made transport services is at the heart of our business. Since 1999, we have specialised in urgent transport and have established a solid network throughout Europe.
